A colourful climbing form of Philodendron, Brasil (Philodendron hederaceum) features dark green heart shaped leaves with splashes of lime green variegation throughout the leaves. Named for it’s resemblance to the Brazilian flag, this easy care and low maintenance indoor plant will make quite a statement.
For display as a climbing plant we recommend a coir totem to assist this plant in it’s journey upwards; outside a suitable tree will allow this plant to show off it’s beautiful growth habit and foliage. This plant will happily trail over a basket or shelf and will keep to a more compact growth habit if the tips are regularly pinched out, making it an extremely versatile part of an indoor plant collection.
Philodendron are perfect for pots and indoor culture and they require a well drained soil and a brightly lit position out of direct sunlight.
Care: Preferring light humidity, Philodendron appreciate regular watering, but do not let the plant become waterlogged as this will cause fungal issues and most likely death, particularly during Winter. For best results fertilise regularly with a slow release fertiliser and repot every few years using a good quality potting mix for indoor plants.
In warmer climates, these gorgeous plants will brighten up a sheltered shady position outside. Grows 50cm - 1m wide and up to 1m high.
